Hanging pour-over Filters
Hanging pour-over filters—often referred to as hanging ear drip bags—are single-serve coffee pouches that feature built-in, fold-out paper arms. They easily hook onto the edges of your favorite mug, allowing you to brew a fresh, individual cup of pour-over coffee. If you have a Keurig or a kettle here is how to use fresh ground coffee with one of these amazing filters.
How to Use Them:
Brewing with disposable hanging ear bags takes less than 5 minutes:
- Prepare the Filter: Tear open the top of the filter bag along the dotted line and pull the two "ears" (or hangers) away from the center.
- Hook and Fill: Place the paper hooks over the rim of your mug to suspend the pouch in the center. Add about 1.5 tablespoons (approx. 10 g to 12 g) of your favorite ground coffee into the pouch.
- Pour and Enjoy: Slowly pour hot water (about 200°F or 93°C) over the coffee grounds in a circular motion. Let the coffee drip through completely into the mug, then simply dispose of the bag.
Key Benefits:
- Portability: Because they are flat, lightweight, and require no extra brewing machinery, they are highly favored by travelers, campers, and office workers.
- Clean Cleanup: Unlike bulky French presses or pour-over cones, there is no washing required. You just toss the biodegradable or non-woven fabric bag when you are done.
- Versatility: The unique hanging ear hook is designed to sit securely across most cup and mug sizes, preventing slips or messes
